Dyslexia is a broad term pertaining to a learning disability syndrome that impairs with a person’s ability to comprehend which can manifest through difficulty in rapid naming, auditory short-term memory impediment, and phonological awareness and decoding problems, and orthographic coding difficulties.

In early stages, dyslexia manifests through the patients delayed speech patterns, tendency to be easily distracted by background noises, and mirror writing (or writing the letters in reverse). Advanced stages dyslexia can include difficulty in creating and identifying rhythmic words, having problems with the ability to blend sounds to make words, very poor spelling comprehension, and the tendency to omit or add letters when writing or reading.
